Cruise parking at the Port of Galveston

The Port of Galveston says it has more than 5,000 cruise parking spaces, all on port property. Each terminal has its own lots, so the first thing to know is which terminal you are sailing from. The terminal guide covers that.

What it costs

The port doesn't print its parking prices on its website. You get a rate by entering your dates in its reservation engine. Here is what it does say:

• Rates depend on how long your cruise is, for the garages and for the outdoor lots.
• Prepaying online is "generally priced lower than drive-up rates." The port posts monthly promo codes on its Facebook page.
• Drive-up parking works if there is space, but it is card only. No cash.
• There is a loyalty discount and a discount for disabled veterans.
• Reservations usually open up to 18 months before the sailing.

The port's pages disagree on cancellations. The FAQ says there is no fee if you cancel at least 24 hours before the sail date. The online-specials page says a $10 fee applies to every cancellation. Read the terms on the booking screen before you pay.

Lots by terminal

Terminal 10 (Royal Caribbean). The North Premium Lot has 100 spaces under solar canopies and is the closest. The North Lot has 550 uncovered spaces a short walk away. The South Lot is the economy option with 660 spaces. The Pier 10 and Pier 12 lots are within walking distance. You can also book the Terminal 16 garage for a Terminal 10 cruise and ride a free shuttle across.

Terminal 16 (MSC and Norwegian). A small uncovered lot two or three minutes away on foot, a larger uncovered economy lot, a premium lot and an indoor garage near the VIP entrance. The port lists no shuttle for either uncovered lot.

Terminals 25 and 28 (Carnival and Disney). The Express Lot has 680 spaces next to Terminal 28. The SMP Garage at 25th Street and Harborside Drive has 400 spaces and is the only multi-level port garage for these two terminals. It's close enough to walk, so there is no shuttle. Economy Lots A and B, near 33rd Street, hold 2,100 cars between them and have a free shuttle.

Shuttles, RVs and accessible parking

Where a lot has a shuttle it is free, and the port says it runs about every five to seven minutes. Many of the shuttles take wheelchairs and scooters.

Every lot has accessible spaces. They go first come, first served, and you can't reserve one.

RVs park in the economy lots. Depending on the length of the vehicle, you may have to pay for two spaces.

Private lots

Several private companies run cruise parking in Galveston. The port says it is not affiliated with any of them and takes no responsibility for cars left there.

Lighthouse Parking is one that publishes its prices. On September 10, 2026 its site listed open-air parking at $11 a day, covered at $14 and elevated covered at $18. The price includes a round-trip shuttle to Piers 10, 16, 25 and 28. Drop-off runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the last shuttle to the port leaves at 2:30 p.m. You only get the exact address in your booking confirmation, and cancelling costs $15.

A private lot can come out cheaper than the port, but you give up the walk to the terminal. Before you pick one, check how it counts days and what time its last shuttle to the ship leaves.
